Today in Health Science 20, William Whitehawk, an elder from Winnipeg stopped by our classroom. In exchange for tobacco (one of the 4 sacred medicines), he shared with us his knowledge of traditional medicine. We learnt about the medicine wheel, several different medicinal plants, and the creation story. Most memorable was probably the sweet grass braid, rat root and sneezer.
