The Health Science 20 class has spent some time recently learning about macronutrients, including lipids. In order to learn what foods contain lipids, and in what amounts we brought in a variety of foods from home to test. Using just a brown paper bag we tested foods like cheese, processed meat, cookies, granola bar, nut butters, chocolate, fruit, etc. When the results were in, all of the foods we tested contained some level of fat, with the exception of the marshmellow and fruit. Cheese contained the greatest amount of fat leaving in one experimental group, a grease stain that measured 8 cm across!!! Here is a before and after picture of our experiment with fat.
